TIMARU TROTTING MEETING. The annual meeting of the Timaru Trotting Club took place at the Washdyke on Thursday afternoon. The weather during the greater part of the day was very favorable, and the attendance first-class. The track was an admirable one, half-a-mile round, and the sightseers seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. The office-bearers were all at their posts, and performed their duties most satisfactorily. During the afternoon the sura of £993 was passed through the totalisator. The following are the results ; Two-Mile Maiden Trot, of 10 sovs.; second horse 2 sovs,, from the stake. W. H. Kerr’s b m Emma ... (Owner) 1 R. Hood’s b g Good Enough (Bebbington) 2 This event was run in heats. The first heat was won by J. Harris’ ch g Euchre, with W. Aitken’s b m Maggie second, other starters being Nimrod, May Moon, and Magg. The second heat fell to R. Hood’s Good E nough, the second horse being W. H. Kerr’s b m Emma, other starters being Glide Away, Little Shadow, and Gentle Fanny. The dividends were £4 Is and £9 14s respectively. In the final the other starters were Euchre and Maggie.
