London, October 16. Tallow, medium mutton, 255; beef, 23s 6d, The English wheat market is steady; the Continental shows a general advance ; the American is declining continuously. Forward business in Australian cargoes is inactive. The arrivals of foreign wheat have been large. There are no Australian cargoes off coast or in ports of call. Oct. 17, The English mutton market is very depressed owing tq farmers forcing the safe of stock. The wheat market is firm, and prices are slightly dearer. Sydney, Oct, 17. Bidding at the wool sale is well sustained. Combings are fetching up to and scoured up to Is l|d, Melbourne, Oct, 18. The London agent of the Agricultural Department predicts a good season for butter. Brisbane, Oci. 18. The tolal yield of gold for the year was 442,0000/.s, an increase of 29,700ozsover the previous year.
