London, Sept. 2<s. The eotton-spiiiners, after a conference with the masters, have refused to agree to a reduction, and will strike. Sept. 29. The London County Council have decided to try the experiment of dispensing with contractors, and are organising a direct municipal staff of workers under Trade Union conditions. Bekmn, Sept. 25. Eight hundred workmen in the German State Railway workshops protest against a reduction of unskilled labour below Is lOd and skilled labor below 2s lOd per day. Sydney, Sept. 28. The men are returning to work at Proprietary iniue in small batches.
