Sydney, Sept. 5. It is understood that the Military Commission will recommend an annual saving of £50,000, while increasing the the force by 2500 well trained men. Several of the principal officers will probably be retired.

Mr Reid, leader of the Opposition, has given notice to move, on September 14th, a resolution concerning the absence of the Premier, and expressing the opinion that the summoning of Parliament in the Premier's absence was unconstitutional, without precedent, and that the House disapproves of the action of Ministers in placing a large sum of money at Sir George Dibbs' disposal for his visit to England without the authority of Parliament. The Government have decided not to adjourn the House, but to take the motion in the regular course of business.
