Sept. 5. ' The Standard, in discussing the harvest prospects, estimates that the British wheat crop will not average more than 20 bushels to the acre, owing to mildew. The ship Auckmountain, burnt at Greenock while loading for a Zealand port was valued at £15,000, and the cargo at £20,000 to £30,000. Paris, Sept. 5. The Bank of Paris has agreed to lend the Spanish Government 50,000,000 pesetas (about £2,000,000), and the amount may possibly be increased to 75,000,000 pesetas. Lisbon, Sept. 5. The whole of the sardine factories in Portugal are closed, owing to the inability of the Government to pay drawbacks on foreign oil used in canning.
