GERALDINE DOMAIN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of tho above board was held on Tuesday evening. Present—Messrs A. White (chairman), W. S. Maslin, J. Williama, N. Dunlop, R. Hammond, and A. Sherratt. WORKS. The chairman stated that during the month men had been put on to do stumping in tho Geraldine Bush. Also, that it had boon considered that the pinus insignis treos on tho town side of tho small park were injuring the ornamental trees. Men had since beon put on to cut down the pinus insignis trees and stack them into cords. JSUSII PARK. It was decided to call for tenders for feeding sheep in the Big Bush Park. RENTS. It was decided to take action against a defaulter whose rents are in arrear, unless he pays before next Court day. ACCOUNTS. It was passed that Messrs Kennington and Best be each paid £lO on account of stumping in the buah, and Messrs Baughen and Stringer be each paid £4, on account, for cutting trees in the small park. VOTES OF THANKS. The chairman drew the board's attention to the fact that their term of office was about tn expire, and that that meeting was their lasf.. Ho thanked the meeting for their courtesy, kindness, and forbearance during hii two-years term of ; oliice as chairman. Ho had always | found it a pleasure to be present with them, and they had always worked amicably together. (Applause.) Mr W. S. Maslin moved—" That tho thanks of this meeting be presented to Mr White for his courtesy and ailability in conducting tho business of this board," Ho congratulated tho members on tho very successful two years' work they had done. He did not think there had been any discord —in fact, tho board had worked most harmoniously together, and with a desire for the good of the district as a whole. Ho was pleased with the board's present financial position. very easy task before them, for the bo.au was sound fiancially, and there were not many works to go on with. Mr J. Williams seconded Mr Mashn's motion, which was carried unanimously. Mr Maslin thanked the members for the vote, and said he was pleased with the good financial position of the board. He thought that the ratepayers as a whole could only say that the board had done their duty to tho satisfaction of all. Mr Maslin moved a vote of thanks to the overseer (Mr Annan) and the cleric (Mr C. E. Sherratt.) He thought the board were very fortunate in having such energetic men to look after their interests. Mr Dunlop seconded the proposition, and concurred with the mover with respect to the creditable manner in which the board's works had been carried out by the officers. He eulogised the chairman for the interest he had taken in the board's affairs and tho good order ho had kept at the board's meetings. The clerk and overseer replied, thanking the board for the good opinion they had of them, and a vote of thanks to the Press terminated the meeting.
