Calcutta, Sept. 1.

A battery of artillery, three regiments of Punjaub infantry, and two of cavalry, will proceed to Wana in the event of the Ameer continuing to be oppressed by the frontier tribes. The British are occupying Gorman Valley. The Calcutta correspondent of the Times says that this action is justified by the continual raids of the Wiziris.

The Indian Goverement are sending 5000 troops to the Black Mountains in the Indus Valley to drive ont Hassim Ali.

Indian reinforcements are being got ready for Afghanistan. London, Sept. 3.

Professor, Aminius Varaberry, the Eastern Authority, believes that the Russian expedition in Pamir intends to attack India, and that it is not unlikely that the Afghans and Chinese realise the impending danger. The Professor describes the situation on the Indian frontier as "the approach of the Muscovite knife to England's throat."

It is reported that at Merv that the Hazaras killed two thousand of the Ameer's troops in the last battle.
