CHOLERA.

London, Aug 2S. Cholera has appeared at Berlin, and three cases have occurred at Gravesend among Jewish immigrants who arrived in a steamer from Hamburg. The cholera epidemic has spread to Rouen in France, and Altina near Hamburg. Great precautions are being taken in Great Britain and on the Continent to prevent its extension. French and German vessels are being quarantined at Antwerp. A floating hospital is being prepared at Grimsby. The United States Government are also alarmed at the spread of cholera, and will quarantine immigrants. Energetic safeguards are being taken in New York. An examination proves that the sickness reported at Gravesend is not cholera as was at first supposed. Prince Esterhazy, Military Attache to the Austrian Legation, is ill, and it is believed to be cholera. A third pauper immigrant from Hamburg has died at Gravesend from cholera, and another has been placed in quarantine. Cholera has made its appearance at Kiel in Prussia, and at Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Cholera has made its appearance in the metropolis, and the cases discovered have been isolated. Pauper aliens are being prevented from coming to the country. It is reported that the epidemic has broken out in Aberdeen and Glagow. Paris, Aug. 28. Cholera has appeared at Bourdeaux, Berlin, Aug. 2G. Sixty deaths from cholera have occurred at Hamburg. Dr. Koch points out that the number is small compared with the population, and the panic is abating. Aug. 28. Eight hundred cases of cholera, and three hundred deaths are reported in Hamburg since the outbreak. The baths, markets, and theatres have been closed, and meetings and dances have been prohibited. Germany has stopped traffic along the Russsian frontier. St. Petersburg, August 27. The death rate in Russia from cholera continues to be about 300 daily.
