London, July 18. The Daily News, Daily Telegraph, and Standard, refer to the Midlothian election as the moat striking phenomenon of the election. Mr Hugh, Nationalist, was elected for North Leitrim. The Liberals gain North Ayr, Mr Borkmyre, by a majority of seven. The former members were elected for Connemara, Eccles, and Rossendale, Messrs Dalziel and Snape, Home Rulers, were elected for Kirkcaldy. The Parnellites declare that they will only support Mr Gladstone if Home Rule is granted according to their former leader’s ideas. Mr Bruce, Q. 0., M.P. for Holborn,has been appointed to a judgship. Mr Ritchie, President of the Board of Trade, who who was defeated for St. George’s, will probably contest the vacancy. Mr Arch has been elected for the North-West division of Norfolk, and Sir Charles Dilke for Forest of Dean by a majority of 2400. The Tories gain Thalbridge and Digby. The former members have been re-elected for the Western division of Stafford, Wansbeck, Bishop Auckland, Eastern division of Stowmarket, Eastern division of Northampton, Kingswinfqrd, Homeforth, Leigh, Cleveland, Berwick, Workinghani, South Kerry, Barkston, Ash Division of York (West Riding, Harwich, Ashburton, and Eddisbury. [Conservatives 7, Liberals 9.] Nationalist members have been elected for North Monaghan, Mr Drawond, and Ossory, Mr Cream. In the election for the North-west division of Norfolk, Mr Arch, Uibpraj, defeated the form cut Conservative candidate, Lord Henry Bentinck, by 1989,. Ju|y 10. The Conservatives gain. Wilton (Lord Folkestone) Thp Liberals gain Louth, Mr Perks; and Buckross, Mr Holden. The former members have been re-elected for Flintshire, Western Division of Monmouth, Wisbech, Choster-10-street, South Donegal, llkestone, Melton, Anglosea, Horsham, Aylesbury, Cookernrouth, Merionethshire, North Tyronp,~St. Ansell} East "Glamorganshire, Cardiganshire, North Dublin South Hexford, East Somerset.
