BOARD OF REVIEWERS.

The Board of Reviewers for the Levels Riding resumed their review of the assessment of the Levels Estate on Tuesday morning. The Homestead block, 7930 acres, total £83,818, improvements £12,448, net land £71,370. Messrs Ford and Maclean's valuation yas 7944 acres, total value £9 an acre £71,49(5, improvements £15,190 ; net land £50,299. The improvements were set down as 6930 acres English grass at £1 per acre, 4743 chains of fencing at 12s Od, 200 acres of plantation at £5, buildings £4OOO, dams £52, yards £l5O, dip £IOO. —After taking evidence the Board decided that 2000 acres on the frontage should remain at £9, unimproved value ; the rest would be reduced by £1 to £8 per acre, unimproved value. The total valuation was therefore reduced by £5930. 1171 acres between Sullivan's and the back of the homestead block, valuation' £10,245 (£8 15s per acre), improvements, £877, net land £93OS (£8 an acre).—Reduced to £7 per acre net, total reduction £ll7l.

J. Jackson, 82 acres near Pleasant Point, full valuation £B2B, improvements £yl2, net £5lO. Objector stated that this farm was let with purchasing clause at £6 per aero. Total reduced to £OOO, improvements unaltered, A. C. Pringle, Claremont, 1599 acres total £7951 (£5 per acre) improvements £1412 net £6539. Objector said the valuation was excessive, and lie was prepared to sell for less. The board reduced the valuation on 999 acre* by so mucn as made a reduction of £1 an aero all round; making the total £0352, net £4940. Levels estate resumed: — 1093 acres, total £0558 (£6 per acre), improvements £697, net laud £SBOI. Mr Ford's valuation was £4 per here. This is a long narrow strip along the road from Sullivan's to Taiko Flat, and witness described it as gritty shaly ridges, not fit for cropping, except 70 acres lately cropped in Taiko Flat, and the crop would not give more than 12 or 13bushels, Only 800 acres were ploughable. Valuation sustained.
