Temuka—Tuesday, April 12, 1892. [Before C. A. Wray, Esq. ; R.M.] BREACH OF THE SHEEP ACT J. Ashwell was charged on the information of Mr Douglas, Sheep Inspector, with having 300 sheep in his possession not having the registered brand of the owner. P. Waroiug was charged with a similar offence in respect of 150 sheep. Bjth defendants were fined Id per head. BREACH OF COUNTY BY-LAWS. Geraldine County Council v. M. Scannell. The defendant was charged with taking a traction engine over the Temuka bridge. The case was adjourned for 14 days. CIVTL CASES. J. T. M. Hayhurst v. W. Hooper— Claim £l7 4s for 86 weeks rent.—Judgment for plaintiff with costs. Watson v. Armitage. Mr Salmond for plaintiff. In this case plaintiff sued for possession of a house occupied by defendant. Defendant stated that he had no objection to leave the house, but had experienced difficulty in obtaining another. He had employed no house agents, but could not get a dwelling. Edward Pilbrow, agent for plaintiff, gave evidence as to tenancy, rent, and as to the requisite notice having been given. Order made to leave the premises ■within a week. The court then rose.
