ST. MARY'S ANGLICAN CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOOL, GERALDINE.
The annual presentation of prizes to children attending the above school came off on Saturday afternoon last. The Rev. James Preston handed out the books, and in doing so made a short speech to the children. It gave him great pleasure to find that the school showed a decided improvement on last year. There was a marked improvement in conduct and behaviour compared with last year, and he hoped they would maintain their good name in the coming year by doing their utmost to please the teachers and being attentive to their duties. The teaching they received in the Sunday Schools was the bulwarks against the devil. Sunday School teaching he considered was one of the highest forms of rescue work, because the teaching the children received they carried with them through life. They were taught the " fear of God which is the beginning of wisdom." After the prizes were handed out those who had not received prizes were presented with lollies and fruit.
