BANK FAILURE.
St. Petersburg, March 16. Gunsberg's bank at St. Petersburg has suspended payment; liabilities six million roubles. Considerable distress has been caused bv the failure of Gunsberg's Bank. March 17. It has transpired that the Czar forbade the Minister of Finance to advance 5,000,000 francs to save Gunberg's Bank. The assets of the institution are expected to be sufficient to meet all liabilities. Gunberg's Bank has branches in Berlin and Paris, where the losses will be serious. The London Branch did only a small business, and it is believed that the assets there will be ample to cover the deficiency.
