RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
Trentham, March 11. At 2.30 this afternoon Mrs Reeves, wife of the Minister of Justice, in the absence of Mrs Ballance, fired the first shot. The Minister of Justice delivered a short speech to the men, declaring that the Government was in favor of the volunteer movement, and instanced their importing a commandant, who came with high credentials and whom ha believed would be the right man in the right place.
