THE SABBATH.
I TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I desire, through your paper, to tender my thanks to the kind friends who are trying to set my mind at rest on the subject of the change of the Sabbath, but they need not get excited over it. Your answer was sufficient for me. " Truth " (?) seems more mystified than myself. " Candid " is very logical. He seems to have a splendid library, and wants people to know it. I find that his quotation from Encyclopedia Brittanica is correct, and will take his word for the rest. " H.G." would make a splendid minister for a county village, as he is so delightfully self contradictory, and rambles away from his subject so artlessly. " Book Agent's" letter is a piece of uncalled foi impertinence. He should sign himself " Book Fiend." After reading all the letters that have appeared, and looking up all quotations, the conclusion is irresistible that " "We owe the beneficent institution of the Sunday rest solely to the Catholic Church," and now the mystery with me is " Why don't the people admit it." Thanking you in anticipation, I am, &c, Mystified. Feb. 24.
