TEMUKA TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of tho above was hold last evening. Present—Messrs J. Blyth (chairman,) W, Storey, G. Mason, P. Ooira and S, Clinch. eoiUBKs ro ni) is'N’en. Correspondence was read from I Mr D. Taylor request ing, that his name might be removed from the rate roll in respect of part of section 50, and the name of Mr P, Coira substituted. Prom Messrs Evan Yallender and W,J McLeod, drawing attention to the charge for registering their sheep dogs. Their dogs were used outside the town boundary (although they lived in the town), but they were charged at the rate of 10s per dog, whereas other dealers who lived only just outside the boundary were charged at the rate of two shillings and sixpence. They requested the board to give the matter consideration.—The clerk looked up the Act.—The board had no power to alter tho, fees. From Mendelson’s trustees, asking the board to remove lamp-post in the front of new premises just erected next Stone Store, as they desired to erect a. verandah.—Permission granted to erect a verandah, the board to inspect the place and see to what site the lamp can be removed. From Mr A. M. Clark requesting tl, the asphalting might be extended frar Mr Nicholas’s stables to his office, and offering to pay share of cost of same.— The work to be done. , From Mr G. Dyson, asking that his T name might be removed from the roll in respect of sections near railway (enumerated) . —Granted.

From Mr Job Brown, requesting that Mr Moynahan be allowed to put pipes under asphalt near his premises. Granted. overseer’s report. The overseer’s report was to the following effect: — All instructions had been carried out. Contract 40, and additional sections of footpath, had been practically completed. Some tarring and sanding remained to be done. A detailed statement of workdone had been prepared. The Park Board had been advised of the reason why claim for rent had been made. Contract 42 had been finally completed, and the contractor had been paid for same. DOG REGISTRATION. Mr Mason moved Pilbrow, the clerk to the board, bo formally appointed registrar of dogs for the Temuka Town District; that he give notice in the Temuka Leader that all dogs must be registered within fourteen days, after which the police will be instructed to enforce the same.” Seconded by Mr Coira and carried. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £9217s 9d were passed for payment and the meeting terminated.
