THE WOOLBROKERS.

TO THE EDITOR. — I see by the report, of the Farmers' Co-operative Association, Timaru,. in your paper of Tuesday last, in discussing, the Woolbrokers' Association, someone gave his opinion that unless they all sold on the same day buyers would not come, and if they went against the other firms the Farmers' Association would be boycotted. I think that the person giving his opinion must be a large shareholder, and wants to draw "water to his own mill." It is well known that the sale is made up principally of farmers' wool, and as a rule it must be sold. A man with five, ten, or fifteen bales of wool don't want to bother about shipping. I think it is the farmers' sale, and the buyers would patronise it. The auctioneers, instead of boycotting, would be like the little boy in the street holding his master's horse until his master had done his business. Buyers are not such fools in these days. They will go where they are likely to buy the most wool, and that would be jto the Farmers' Association if they sold at the old commission. . They would get all the farmers' wool. The auctioneers get some of the squatters' wool, more for show than for sale, and the buyers know that. By giving this letter space in your valuable paper you would greatly oblige, ," (| r' '■•■■' .Farmer. Geraldine.
