GERALDINE ROAD BOARD.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — I had a long epistle written for insertion in your valuable paper in regard to what passed at the last meeting of the Geraldine Road Board, which would not have been conducive of much harmony, but as Mr Deßenzy had the good sense to clear out his water race, after all the clap-trap he indulged in at the last meeting of the board, and lowered the water I complained of, I will suppress my feelings in the matter. It is with the greatest self-denial that I refrain from publisuing it, as I consider I Jwas very much calumniated at the last meeting of the board. If the statements of Mr Deßenzy had been correct he would not have gone to the trouble of doing exactly what I wanted done. This will show the public that what I contended for was fair and just. One would think by reading the report of the board’s meeting that I am a man who .usually quarrels with his neighbors. Ido not think I have that character. My case was as just a case as ever was brought before a public body of men, and I think the public will have little difficulty to determine who was right and who was wrong. If Mr Deßenzy keeps the water at its present level he will never hear any complaint from me, and we will live as people should, in peace and harmony; if, on the contrary, this water is allowed to back on my land I will not submit to it as I have done for the last six or seven years,— I am, etc., P. H. M’Shanb, Geraldine Plat, Nov. 6,
