TO THE EDITOR. gXK,—As a subscriber to the treat and. prize fund collected in December, 1889, which I believe amounted to some £4, X would like to ask the chairman if this is the “ financial difficulty ” which he and his committee have “ decided to drop.” One thing is certain, the money has not been spent, either in children’s prizes or providing a school treat. Let Mr Carston and his fellow members appoint an independent accountant to examine the books and vouchers, and trape this money and any other items not properly accounted for. Until this is done the public mind will not be allayed, and any future canvass for a similar object will not be readily responded to.— I am, ptc., Subscriber..
