The following resolution was forwarded by the Temuka Road Board : —“ That this board regret that by the alteration to the Electoral District a large portion of this riding is joined to the Rangitata, to which district the residents here feel no community of interest; that this board consider it would be advisable, if possible, to obtain an alteration, so as to make the Rangitata river the northern boundary instead of the Ohapi creek ; also, that the name of Gladstone or Geraldine he retained in preference to that of Pareora ; that the County Council and other local bodies be asked to support this alteration being, if possible, given effect to by the Commissioners.” It was resolved on the motion of Mr Clinch, seconded by Mr G. Mason—“ That this board endorse the resolution of the Temuka Road Board, and would further suggest that if to make the boundary at Rangitata district be found inpracticahle, that the boundary of Timaru be extended southwards, so as to make districts more compact.” It was decided to forward copies of the resolution to the Electoral Commissioners, to the County Council, Geraldine Road and Towtx Board, and Levels Road Board. overseer’s report. The overseer’s report was to the following effect: — The asphalt contract was progressing satisfactorily. There was a large supply of mixed material on hand. The work had with approval been commenced at Bwen road, and one section completed with the exception of the top dressing. The material excavated had been, disposed of upon footpaths. He suggested that the concrete kerbing at Railway Terrace be backed up before the asphalting is commenced, as in its present condition it might not bear the heavy roller. He found that the cover of the well on Railway Terrace had been removed. He had caused it to be protected with planks. He had written to Mr Denis O’Keefe, relative to the immediate removal of the brick house. Nothing had yet been done in the matter, Mr E. Brown hadreceivedan explanation's to his assessment, and was satisfied as to its correctness. He had, with the permission of the chairman, let the use of the office to the Park Board for a meeting. He could find no notice upon the minutes as to whether they were to pay rent for its use, as the Cemetery Board did. The drain leading through the Park required clearing out. The surfaceman’s engagement expired on Saturday last. It was resolved to have part of footpaths at the back of asphalt blinded with clay. The board decided to inspect the kerbing upon railway terrace, and devise means for its maintenance. It was resolved to notify the Park Board that the office rent would be 20s per annum. The overseer was instructed to invite tenders for the cleaning of the park drain. It was resolved to retain the services of the surfaceman at his former salary. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £4O Is 5d were passed for payment, and the meeting terminated.
