WAITOHI WATER SUPPLY.

A meeting of settlers interested in the Waitohi Flat water supply was held at the schoolroom Waitohi Flat on Friday evening. There was a large attendance. Mr Talbot, as the authorised representative of the Geraldine County Council, presided, and Mr Stubbs, clerk to the council, was also present. The meeting was called to consider the proposal of the Council to borrow the sum of £3OOO for the purposes of carrying out irrigation works upon the Waitohi, such a course having been rendered necessary by certain errors that had occurred in defining the boundaries of the district under a former poll. After a lively and interesting discussion, a full report of which will appear in our next, it was resolved that a poll of the ratepayers be taken on Monday, Nov. 16th. The meeting then terminated with a vote of thanks to the chair.
