AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS. Messrs J, Mundell and Co. report sales for the fortnight ending Saturday, Oct. 10th, 1891, as follows : Since oux* last report an abundant supply of rain has fallen, effecting a complete change in the pasture, feed being now plentiful and stock owners are looking themselves again. At Geraldine yards on Tuesday, 28th September, the entries for this sale consisted of 1080 sheep, 25 cattle, and 12 pigs. The sale was dull from start to finish; a few changed owners at the following quotations, viz.:— Sheep Three-quarterbred hoggets, 12s 9d; three-quarterbred wethers and maiden ewes, 2 and 4-tooth, 14s to 14s 3d. Cattle—Cows, fat, £4; 2-year-old steers and heifers, £ll6s. Pigs—Strong stores, 7s to 8s 3d; weaneis, 4s to ss. Pleasant Point—At Pleasant Point yards on Monday a moderate entry of stock was yarded. The sale throughout was dull and dragging. Of our entry we sold 90 three-quarterbred hoggets at 11s 4d; 60 three-quarterbred wethers and maiden ewes, 4-tooth, at 14s 3d; 4 steers and heifers, fat, at £5 10s; 1 store cow, £2 12s 6d; 1 heifer, springing, £2 10s; 2 heifers, 2-year-olds, at £2 ; 1 dry cow, £1; 1 cow in profit, £2; 2 yearling heifers at £1 Is; 1 cow springing, £2. Temuka Yards—At Temuka live stock market, on Tuesday, the entry for the day consisted of 1900 sheep, 75 cattle, and 5 pigs. Although a steady rain was falling all interested in stock stuck to business, and the bulk of the entry was disposed of at satisfactory prices, a few of which wb append: Sheep —Three-quarterbred wethers and maiden ewes, fat, 16s, 16s 3d, to 16s 6d, quarterback wethers, 13s 10d; threequarterbred hoggets, 13s 3d; threequarterbred ewes in lamb, 12s. Cattle—Cows, fat, £6 17s 6d to £7; light weights, £5 2s 6d to £5 10s; cows, springing, £2 7s 6d to £3; steers and heifers, 3-year-olds, £3 7s 6d to £3 10s; steers and heifers, 2-year-olds, £llss to £2; yearlings, 12s 6d to 17s 6d; dry cows, £1 to £1 2s 6d. Pigs—Porkers, 13s. Land—We sold on account of the Hon. T. H. Wigley, 20 acres, partly bush, situated in Maori Gully, to William Walker, at £7 per acre. • Sheepskins, Wool, etc.—On Wednesday we held our usual fortnightly sale at the stores of the National Mortgage and Agency Company Timaru. We submitted an average catalogue to about the usual number of buyers. We have to report a further decline in values, which are as follows;—Butchers’ crossbreds, 5s to 5s Id; medium, 3s 5d to 4s Id ; merinos, 3s 6d to 4s; dry skins, 4fd to 5d per lb ; bag wool, 5d do ; hides, and rough fat at late quotations.
