WESLEYAN HOME MISSION.

On Sunday last special services were held at the Temuka Wesleyan Church, in connection with the Home Mission Work' In the morning the Rev. J. S Smalley preached, his subject being "In bright New Zealand and the way into it." In the evening he took for his subject " How can a man*know that his sins are forgiven." In the morning I and afternoon at the Maori Pah, the Rev.e Piripiri Rakena preached, and the j Rev. J. S. Smalley concluded an afternoon service in the Public Hall, Winchester. . The congregations were large, many adherents coming in from a distance. The Rev. Piripiri Rakena received a most cordial welcome at the pah, the natives attending the services in large numbers and expressing a desire that arrangements might be made for more frequent visits from him, On Monday a public meeting was held at the church. There was a large attendance, many representatives from the pah being present. The Rev. J. Dellow presided. The meeting proved of a very interesting character and was not concluded until after 10 o'clock. A further report will appear in our next issue.
