The present generation of mankind aeems determined to proceed along the path that leads to death the one that will kiU it quickest. The struggle for existence, business worry, gambling, horsexacing, and all nervous excitements, tend to reduce the vital strength and insure early death. Now-a-days it is the pace that kills : the body is worn out before its natural spell of life is spent. There is no reason why all men and women. — physically perfect t—should not live to be centenarians, provided care was taken that the system was not overtaxed in any particular direction.
