The alleged attempt to form a corner in wheat is denied, but six shillings is Still offered without response. Flour has risen to £l4, Sept. 22. Wheat, fair average milling, 5s 9d; nominally, 6s to 6s 6d, no sales recorded. Flour, stone-makes, £l2 lOsto £l3 ; roller brands, £l3 10s to £l4. Oats range from 2s to‘2s 7£d, according to quality. Barley, malting, 2s lid to 3s Id, Bran, Is l£d. Sydney, Sept. 22. Wheat, chick, 3s 9d to 4s; milling, 4s to 5s ; prime, 6s 6d. Flour, stone-makes, £ll to £l2 ; roller brands, £l2 10s to £l3. Oats, feeding, Is 9d to 2s ; seed, 2s Id. Maize, 2s 3d to 4s. Bran, Pollard, Bjd. Potatoes, New Zealand, fresh in, £1 2s 6d to £lss; Circular Heads, £2 15s, Onions, £3 15s. Butter, dairy-made (local), 9d to lOd ; factory lid to Is, Cheese, 6dto 7d. Bacon, local, 5d to 7d: imported, 8d to 9d; hams, New Zealand, lOd to lid. Adelaide, Sept. 22. Wheat, firm at[ss 2d to 5s 3d. Flour, stone-makes, £ll to £ll ss; roller brands, £l2 5s to £l2 IDs. The market is quiet. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Sept. 20. The cargo of wheat per barque Hudson from Lyttelton (May 16) has been sold at 39s 6d. The English wheat market is firmer, the Continental has an upward tendency, and the American shows a general advance. The total quantity of wool catalogued up to date is 167,000 bales,' of which 133,000 have been sold. Prices are steady. Foreign buyers have taken 43 per cent of the quantity sold. Sept. 22. Faulty wools are irregular in price. Other sorts remain steady at previous rates. Wheat has risen Is, but the market is weak.
