A return publishad by the Invercargill News shows that during the last four months 33 farms, totalling about 7000 acres, have changed hands in Southland. These sales appear to have been- op a “cutting up ” nature, over 2700"iacres were sold out of one estate, and the rest were sold by two large companies, the Scottish and New Zealand Investment Comp; ny selling 3256 acres. The highest price quoted was $A 5s per acre, and this for improved portions of a “splendid agricultural tract, h the Gladfield estate near Otautau.
