SERVICE OF SONG.

Although the weather was very unfavorable on Friday evening last, the service of song “ Little Dot,” given by the Geraldine Primitive Methodist Choir, drew a crowded audience in the Woodbury schoolroom, and the school prize fund will ho doubt benefit thereby. Before the service of song commenced the choir gave a chorus ; Mr E. Logan gave a reading entitled “ Trouble in the Amen Corner“ Beyond the Swell Tide ” was sung by Misses Andrews, Dunlop, and Stonehouse, and Messrs Logan and Brooker; “We : shall Know each other There ” was rendered by Misses Dunlop, Bowkett, and Stonehouse, and a number of boys; the Rev. Mr Wood recited “ The Unbelieving Chicken; and Misses Andrews, Stonehouse, and Dunlop, and Messrs C. B. Sherratt and Logan sang “ Waiting for the Promise.” The service of song “ Little Dot ” was then very pathetically gone through, the Rev. W. C. Wood giving the connective readings, Mr A. Sherratt conducted the musical part, and was ably assisted by Mr W. A. Sherratt on the organ, and Messrs T. Sherratt and W. Stonehouse with cornets. The solos in connection with the service of song were taken by Misses Dunlop and Andrews, and were nicely rendered. At the close of the meeting Mr | Dean, Chairman of the Woodbury School Committee, on behalf of the Committee, thanked the audience for their attendance. The entertainment, taking it all round, was very successful, and the credit of its success falls to Mr A. Sherratt, who worked .hard in getting it up. A word of praise is due to several lady friends of the Committee, who refreshed the singers with some excellent coffee and cakes at the close of the entertainment.
