THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH GERALDINE.
For some time past the members of “ St. Mary’s in the Bush ” church have felt the want of adequate accommodation at church services, and it having been decided to make further improvements and enlargements, tenders were called, with the result that Mr J. Scott, of Geraldine, was appointed contractor. The addition will be a continuation of the old church. The present sanctuary and sacristy will be thrown into the nave and 24 feet more added, so that when finished the nave will be 64ft long by 28ft wide. The sacristy and confessionals will be 12ft. x 13ft., with projecting gables ; the sanctuary 14ft. x 18ft,, half hexagon, with two ornamental windows on each side, and a circular light with stained glas over the main , altar. We have seen the plan of proposed alterations, and from all appearances the members of “ St. Mary’s in the Bush” will have a church to be proud of when finished. Mr A. White is the architect and has the supervision of the work, and all concerned can rest assured that he will make a good job of it. The foundations for the additional part are being pnt down and in the course of about three months the whole should be completed.
