I August 12. The total quantity of wheat and flbui ;i afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,072,000 quarters, and for the Continent 2,592,000 quarters. The English wheat market is improving; and there is;a general advance of 6d. The Continental market is firm and the American steady. '• A further rise of 6d per quarter in, English wheat is recorded; land and Australian have also risen 6d. The estimated visible American supply is 23,800.000 bushels. The ;N ; ew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company,..Limited, have received' the following cable advice from their London office, dated 10th August:— Weather unsettled.. Wheat—Market is firm but inactive. New Zealand wheat, f.a.q., to arrive, iron ship, is nominally worth c.i.f. 39s per 4801 b, April-May Mil of .lading. New Zealand and longtbprried, are worth respectiVely 41 s and -42 s 6d per 4961 b. ~.
