GERALDINE BOARD OF HEALTH.
The Geraldine Board of Health was held on Tuesday evening last, and attended by Messrs A. White (chairman'), A. Slierratfci Maslin, Williams, Mundell, Dunlop, and Hammond* SUISAKCES. The chairman said that his attention had been called by Dr Fish and several other residents to the dreadful state of the house occupied by a resident. ! There were 15 persons living in the one J house, and a horse, cows, pigs, ducks, ! fowls, &c, were kept on a -J-acre section, I and the consequence was that a very'
offensive smell prevailed in the vicinity;, much to the annoyance of passers-by. It was resolved, on the motion of ' Mr Maslin, seconded by Mr Hammond- “ That Mr Gaby be written to asking him to abate the nuisance of overcrowding his house, and also of herding stock and keeping offensive matter - about his premises; the nuisance to be abated within 7 days, otherwise proceedings to be taken.” The chairman said that his attention had been drawn to a nuisance in the way of offensive smell at the back of premises.
