The last of the election took place yesterday, and as far as it is possible to ascertain, the following is an estimate of parties:— Ministerialists. ... ... ... 49 Opposition ... ... ... 50 Labour ... ... ... ... 37 Independent ... ... ... 5 As regards the policy of Freetrade or Protection G 4 adhere to the present policy of Freetrade. while 74 have, declared for Protection. Three of the number returned have not declared which way they will vote. It has been decided that Parliamest shall resume on the 14th. An analysis of the voting shows that Ministerialists received 8(1,000 votes, and Oppositionists 6(3,000, the labor party 08,000, and Independents 13,000.

The Rev. Mark Guy Pearse, the Wesleyan clergyman who is making a lecturing tour of the colonies, has given great offence to the fashionable women of Sydney by declaring that women is “ a waste product whose chief use is to dispense afternoon tea.”.
