Meyers, Secretary)* : for the week ending Friday, June 6th : The wheat market continues firm and operators are radre aniious to bay, the prices howerer have hot materially altered since our' last. Sales are chiefly -from ex store lines, and it is more difficult to obtain' reliable quotations beyond personal operations. Our shipping space for grain is becoming limited and it is hardly likely that freights will go down, pats are in fair Ibcal demand but shipping apjppars to be entirely out of the question. Barley—Large -transactions have transpired, but in almost every ease buyers have had their own way as regards prices. Beans are enquired for for shipment, but peas are quite neglected. Ryegrass and cocksfoot are dull, it being but of season for any large business. Potatoes are as dull ns they can possibly be, but growers, having them nearly all now pitted, are not offering so freely. . Onions have advanced, and £4 at Christchurch is readily given, whereas -holders'are firm at lapt quotations.
