TIMARU LICENSING ELECTION.
The election of the Timaru Licensing Committee took place on Wednesday last. The contest was very keenly contested, as out of 319 voters whom it was estimated could record their votes, no less than 297 polled. The result was a victory for the moderates, Mobbraths. E. G. Now Zealand wine licenses For increase, 60; against, 158. Informal votes, 52. The result of the poll was a victory for the moderates by an aggregate of 873 votes to 628, or an average of (about) 176 to 106.
