DR BARNARDO’S HOMES.

By the last mail from England Mr B, Pinckney, Superintendent of St. Saviour’s Sunday School, Temuka, received acknowledgment from Dr Barnardo of the sum of £1 11s forwarded by him on behalf of the Sunday School as a donation to the general fund of the doctor’s homes for destitute children. After expressing his thanks, the doctor goes on to say that he is feeding and clothing 4000 boys and girls, and that the funds are very low. He had despatched 180 boys and lads to Canada in March, and had altogether started 4600 boys and girls in life. These had been s© carefully trained that under 2 per cent of them had failed. He asked for the prayful sympathies of all for them.
