An encyclical letter published by the Pope denounces Socialism and reprimands capitalists for the abase of their power. It demands that the Stale should intervene between capital ami labor, otherwise the question will never be solved. Brisbane, May 9. In the Supreme Court (o-day a witness remarked, ‘‘ As the police were all armed with six-shooters, there would not have been many who boo-hooed a second lime if I had been one of the police.
