ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT.
The Northern Luminary, published at Kawakawa, Bay of Islands, says : The twelve charges preferred against O’Halloran on Monday only represents a moiety of the man’s misdeeds, the outside public suffering to the extent of some £4OO in systematic swindles, and £SOO ia “ small debts,” This from a man 20 years in the public service and receiving .a salary of £3OO per
annum. The following are the charges upon which the accused was committed t £or trial at Auckland Larceny of LBl, being the property of Her Majesty, on July 19, 1890. Larceny of Ll 4, ditto, on September 14, 1890. Forging Rev. Keyte’s name to Government voucher for 45s on October 5,1890. Larceny of L 6, on July 5, 1890, Larceny of 80s lOd on December 8, 1890. Larceny of4ls lid on December 9, 1890. Larceny of L 22, on September 22, 1890. Larceny of L 5 11 s , on January 27, 1891. Larceny of L 5, on January 27, 1891. Larceny of L 8 18s 6d, on November 1, 1890. Larceny of L 8 18a 6d on December 1,1890. Larceny of L 5 17s on December 1 1890.
