Rioting.. which lasted many hours, took place at Bradford, where the mi l ban Is have gone out on strike. The police questioned the right of the to hold a public meeting:, and when they attempted to disperse the gathering the strikers foreib’y,reseated the interference The outcome was a general riot, and the assistance of the military was evoked. The soldiers and police with fix d bayonets charged the rioters, and daring the scuffle many of the latter wer> wrunded. Several of those in the crowd threw open knives at >he podce. Twenty of the rioters were arrested. The streets W j re in darkneess. The Majtr and several of the police were injured by stones, Brisbane, April 15.
Daring the trial of (be Unionist, Charles Ville, oonsideiabe sensation was caused by tbs production of important documents connection with tbe otber prisoners. A fatal affray occurred at Bircaldine Downa between two free labourers. One named McLeod esizsd a bayonet from an armed guard and stabbed another named Kyah fatally.
