At Zeit, in a well-to-do merchant’s house, a party of children had assembled for an evening’s entertainment. While the amusements were at ibeir height, and the children were in high glee, a youth entered the room wearing a black mask. On the daughter of the host, a girl of Haven, turning suddenly round, she c night sight of the mask, and with a cry terror sank to the floor in a fit and died shortly afterwards.
