Mr B. D. Thomas, solioitor, Ohristohuroh, one o! the executors of the will of the late E. A. Barker, wrote to the Hospital Board and his letter was read at the meeting of the Hospital Boßid )esterday ; " Mr Barker took a very deep interest in the Hoßpital, and I now bog to forward you a copy of a portion of hie will by which he bequeathed the sum of £2OOO to the institution, lubjaot to the life interest of Mr S. D. Barker in the inoome thereof. Alio a oopy of a letter in whioh Mr Barker expressed his wishes as to the purpose to whioh it is to be applied. I may state that the moneys are directed to be invested in the same manner as is usual in reference to trust moneys, Mr Barkers'* letter, addressed to the executors and the Hospital Board was ai follows : 11 In bequeathing the snm of £?000 for the beneflo of the Ximiru Hospital, I h&va not hampered the aotion of either my executors or the governing body, but 1 wish to place before tham my wishes in respeot of the deposition of the said moneys, which J truat they will reipeptlyely sea carried out so fa,r as may be done, haying due regard to the interests of the hospital.
