N.Z. RIFLE ASSOCIATION'S MEETING.
Puketaptt, Jan. 26. At the council meeting this morning Captain Sommemlle'e proposal in regard to the abolition of the champion belt was discussed in a conversational way, but as the concensus of opinion was against the proposition it was decided to do nothing in the matter at present, but the subject is likely to be brought up at next council meeting. The following are the principal prize-takers in the Grand Aggregate Match, 5,6, and 700 yards, seven shots :

Seaman Stitt, of the Wellington Navais, won the Eifle Cup for 1891-92. Tbe principal winners at the meeting are: — Kruse, Wanganui £76 Webster, Auckland 64 King, Oamaru 37 Perry, Wanganui 34 Wakelyn, Christenurcb. 27 McCarthy, Waikari 23 Henderson, Auckland 23 McCallum, Auckland 22 Taylor, Auckland 22 Doughty, Auckland 20 Sloane, Victoria 20 The prizes were presented to-night at the drillshed by Mrs Swann, wife of Mr G-. E. Swann M.H.E. Kruse met with a big reception; as also did the two Victorian visitors, Lieut. Ealea and Mr Hloane.
