TEMUKA PUBLIC SCHOOL.

The following is a summary of the inspector's report on the annual examination of the school on the 18th, 19bh, 20th, and 21st November. It is a very favorable one, and reflects great credit on the staff, Messrs W. Bryars, T. Cheyne Parnie, C. J. Goldstone, Misses L. M, Phillips, E. Bruce, and H, Sweet.

Standard Vll.—Average age 14 years 7 months: Presented 8. All passed in work of Standard VI. Standard Yl.—Average age 13 years 6 months: Presented 11, failed 2, passed 9. Standard Y.—Average age 13 years: Presented 13,. absent 1, failed 6, passed 7. Standard IY—Average age 12 years 4 months: Presented 25, absent 3, failed 5, passed 18,

Standard 111. Average age 11 years 3 months: Presented 50, absent 2, excepted 2, failed 16, passed 30. Standard II —Average age 10 years 6 months; Presented 33, excepted 3, failed 3, passed 27.

Standard I.—-Average age 9 years 1 month : Presented 70, absent 1, failed 2, passed 67Preparatory Class—Presented 126. Totals Presented 836, absent 6, excepted 5, failed 33, passed 158. Percentage of passes 47, percentage of failures 17.

Remarks Standard VII.; Bight pupils. All the pupils of this class passed with much credit in the work, set for Standard VI. Class P; Under the skilful management of Miss Phillips the pupils in this department are undergoing a first-rate training for their standard course. The school has passed a good examination.
