Gentlemen, —I have the honor to report that in accordance with instructions tenders have been called for cutting, etc., on Princes street, and will be laid before you th's evening. The surfacrrain, however, attended to his duties is per contract, and little or no inconvenience was caused thereby. The bridge a' Qaraack street has not yet been repaired, I woo'd recommend the board to stiongthen it more ttan at first proposed, as I find horses are regtria-ly taken over it. One man has been employed for two days in clearing scrub from Quiee and Shaw streets. Thistles are growing on a number of oewly-forrafed roads, and should be removed. The south town belt or High street will require patching before the grain season. About 150 yards wou'd be required. 1 would recommend the board to invite lenders for this amount. A led. W.
