DR, KOCH’S CURES.
Berlin, Jan. 6. Professor Bernbeim, a pupil of Dr. Koch, states that the foundation of consumption lymph is boaillion made from horse flash, and tubercle baccillns is introduced which develops the’ virus. The bacilli then die, but to ensure their exclusion the liquid is pressed through nnglazed porcelain. The compound is again fiupplied with bacilli and the process is repeated several times. Half per cant of carbolic solution is added to prevent p'utrefocntion. Professor Berhheim says it is impossible to determine the strength of the remedy. Professor Virchow ■ states that the post mortem examination of the patients treated by Dr‘ Koch’s process shows that iinoculation with the' lymph generated a new affection,
Paris, Jau. 10. The French committee of experts Who are investigating Dr Koch’s process, report that the latter bewilders the ablest physicians and it is better to await further developments, Madrid, Jan, 7. Dr Koch’s process has been app ied to lepers wilh partial success. London, Jan. 8 . Dr Koch has arrived in London from Berlin.
Professor Anderson Stuart, who visited Berlin tor the purpose of studying Dr. Koch’s process,* on behalf of New South'Wales, South Australia and New Zealand, has been pibtnised three bottles of lymph. Melbourne, Jan. 9.
Dr Springthorp, who went to Berlin to investigate Dr Koch’s discovery, cables that 1 he has obtained a supply of lymph, and he considers the method of treatment promising. He retards immediately.
