A violent thunderstorm prevailed throughout the colony yesterday, and telegraphic communication with Queensland, Victoria and South Australia was temporarily interrupted. In some parts the storm raged with the severity of a tornado,

Terrific gales h»ve been r»ging on (ho coast for the past two days, and on shore o considerable amount of damage bus been done. At Brunswick, one of tbe suburbs, the roof was blown off a large grain store and a wall blown out. Tbe schooner Aquilla foundered in Port Melbourne. Greßt damage is reported from the country dißtrcts. Adelaidb, Oct. 25. Violent gales blew yesiterday and slight damage resulted to shipping. The iHe was the highest ev°r known in South Australia, Out of seventeen fishing ypssels which were lying at anchor at Kingston, ten were either blown ashore during the height of tbe gale or sunk.
