The following are the figures of merit;, up to date, of the volley and independent firing of the Volunteer Corps in Canterbury:— Lyttelton Naval s : 47 men fired; volley, 9.02 ; independent, 11 70. Kaiapoi Rifles: 45 men fired; **\\ e y 13.42 ; independent, 15.28. ' C.T.C.: 49 men fired ; volley, 13.18; independent, 15.91. Waimate Kifleu; §0 men fi re( j. volley, 1420 j independent, 14.26. Kifls's: 19 men fired; volley, 13 89 j independent, 16.10, Bangiora Eifles: 28 men fired; volley, 12-28; independent, 14.78. Engineers: 22 men fired; velley, 11.81 j independent, 16.19.
