TOWN BOARD ELECTIONS.

Yesterday the general elections of commissioners for the Town Boards of Temuka, Arowbenua and Geraldine were held. Although considerable interest was- manifested in the results there was nothing approaching excitement. The following are the results :

At the declaration of the poll only one candidate was present. At 8 o’clock Mr Wills declared the result of the poll as above, the first five being duly elected. Mr Storey, who was the only candidate present, then addressed those present. He said he felt very thankful to them for having elected him, and would do his best to give them faithful service during hia office. The proceedings then came to a close.

The Returning Officer, for bis Own guidance, placed the names of Messrs Duolop and Tayler together and drew one out. Mr Dunlop was drawn, and Mr Sherratt gave his casting vote in favor of him. Mr White returned a vote of thanks to Mr Sherratt, and the proceedings - terminated.

The first five in Temuka and Arowheau* and the first seven in Geraldine were declared elected.
