The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday: _ i Wheat—At northern ports price? have riseo £4 JP, e .P bushel, with a corresponding rise h ere f°* prime milling wheats only-^"3 B 34 to $s h£df for an exceptionally fine lot, 3® 3d £ medium milling sorts, 3s to 3s 2d| second-class milling wheats, 2s 8d to .2s lOd per bushel. Fowls’ wheat!: O-ood in fair demand, 2s 6d to 2s 8d ; meiihw mi fyok eD > 2s 2( * to 2s 6d.
Barley—Barley has little inquiry, both for malting and milling. Malting (nominal), 2s 6d to 2s lOd; milling, ' gd ;to 2a 4d j feed, Is 8d to 2s. Oats—Some parcels are moving if a reasonable price is accepted by farmers ex store. Prime milling, Is 4df to Is 4|d; bright plump feed, la 3d to | Js I J.s to 1 s -2d (all ex store), sacks extra.
Several inquiries were from Oamaru and Christchurch.
Flour—Timaru and Oamaru roller,) £9 f.0.b., and £9 5s here; Oamaru, ( town and southern; stone, £8 i ss* here; roller: 50’a,,.£10 here, and; £9 15s f.0.b.; Oamaru and stone: 50’s, £8 15s here. Oatmeal > In bulk, £8 10s ; long ton, £8 ; shortj ton, £8 10s; iu 25’s, £lO 10s Pearl Barley—ln 56’s, £ls; forj export; £l6 locally. ’ Bran, £3 locally and £2 10s largej sacks f.0.b., Timaru; sharps, £4 locally] and £2 15s large.sacks f.0.b,, Timaru.; Potatoes have little demand.j Southern, £2 15s to £2 17s 61 ;j Oamaru, £3 to £3 ss. Plenty kidneys j on 1 offer, but no demand. Pigs are keeping low in price—2£d | to 3d for good bacop pork. Hams andj bacon have little.^Bale —hams, 7d toj 8d; rolls and flitches, sd)to 6d.
Chaff l -Well-cut heavy clean and • riddled, £2 5s to £2 IDs; medium, £1 15a to £2.
Onions, £8 to £9 j linseed, £ls to] £l6, if clean; turnips, 15s to 16s ;| carrots, £1 IDs. Straw—Oaten and wheaten, £1 10sj to £1 15s,
Hay—Oaten, £2 10s; clover andj ryegrass, £3 ss. Butter—Salt, unless really prime it! is not',saleable—7d to butter scarce. Cheese—Few are selling. Factory 4d, loaves 3d to loaves 4d. Eggs ore in fair supply. Honey, 4Jd to sd.
Grass Seed—Eyegrass, 3s 9d to,6s ; cocksfoot, 4d to sd; seconds, 2id ; timothy, £BB per ton. Clovers, turnips,'and rape seedsnow to hand, and quote on application.

Hides—The market is well supplied with medium and light hides, but the number of heavies; coming forward is, exceedingly small. The local; manufacturers are buying all arrivals, blit prices show no improvement on recent quotations, nor cant there at present be seen any immediate prospect of an advance in values.
Tallow —Prime rendered, 18s to 19a per cwt; medium, 14s to 17s do;| inferior, 9s to IBs.do ; .rough fat, 9s to 13s do.. '
DUNEDIK,STOCK MARKETS.
At the Burnside Yards on Wednesday the following business was transacted:—
Fat Cattle —283 head yarded. Bestj bullocks sold at £Blss to £lO 7s 6d j medium to good, £6 to £7 17s 6d; light and inferior, £4 5s to £6 12s 6d; cows and heifers, £3 5s to £6 15s.
Fat Sheep—23o2 crossbreds and 265 merinos penned; total, 2567. Prices ruled from .Is to Is 6d lower; than last week. Best crossbred wethers sold at 16s to49s; medium to good at 13s 3d, to 14s 9d; light and inferior at lls 3d to 12s 6d;, best crossbred ewes at 14s 6d to ; 16s; ordinary at 10s 9d to 13s 3d; merinos at 8s 6d to 10s 3d. Fat Lambs—Bo penned. 40 sold at 12s; 27 at lls; 13 at 13s 9d. Pigs —: 201 were yarded. Stores sold at -18 sto 235; porkers, 26s to 335; baconers, 35s ,to , 445; extra heavy, to 555,
ENGLISH MARKETS
