The directors threaten to close the railways and also the Cardiff docks and colleries, by which 150,000 men will he affected. The Cardiff men haye struck, and the employers have entered into a bond to resist them.

The police committee recommend an average increase of 8s 6d per week to the city police^ Madrid, July 25.
