The Herald is of opinion that the decrease in the number of arrivals from New Zealand is a hopeful sign of returning prosperity. \ In the Supreme Court to-.day the case Connell v. Neil arid Co., of New Zealand, an action to recover £9OO, was called,. Counsel for the defence applied to set aside the writ of summons, contending that the company was a foreign corporation outside the jurisdiction of the Court. The Chief Justice granted the application with costs, remarking that if the decision v*as wrong it was desirable to haye it settled on appeal 5 if, on the other hand, the decision Was a right ope it was of sufficient importance to arrest the attention ot the Legislature.
