SUPREME COURT.
Timaru—Thursday, Jsne 26th. Before His Honor Mr Justice Dennisloan. CRIMINAL SESSION. In the case of David Stewart the jury, after having been locked up all night, disagreed: A nolle prosequi was entered, the prisoner wbb set at liberty, and an order given to make inquiries into the truth of the statements made by him. OITIL SITTING. Edward Winter r. Atlas Milling Company, claim L2OO as damages for personal injuries. Mr White for plaintiff, Mr Perry for defendants. The plaintiff in this case was employed in the mill, and was set cleaning an elevator. While he was thus employed the mill was set in motion, and he got his thumb cut off. The case occupied the court all day, and the jury returned a verdict for plaintiff for L 65 and costs.
